About H&B Mining
H&B Mining (Hodgkinson Products) was established in 1993 to make materials-handling conveyor transfer points safer, easier to maintain and more efficient. From its Welshpool workshop, the team designs and supplies conveyor skirts, guards, idlers, dust covers and complete transfer-point upgrades for Australian mine sites.
Its in-house design team covers drafting together with mechanical, structural and civil engineering for conveyor transfer design, and many of its products are H&B’s own developments.
What needed solving
H&B’s products solve very specific problems at conveyor transfer points. The website has to explain them to several different people at once: engineers checking the detail, mine operators and maintenance teams thinking about safety and downtime, and procurement teams and industry buyers comparing options.
That means complex engineering information has to be organised so each visitor can find what they need quickly – on a desktop in the office or a phone on site – without the content being oversimplified.
The work, specifically
Long-term website support
Ocean supported H&B’s original website over many years, keeping product information current as new solutions were developed.
Technical information architecture
Products, services and engineering capability were organised so visitors can find the right conveyor solution by product, problem or capability.
Clearer product presentation
Product content explains what each solution does, where it fits at the transfer point and why it matters for safety and maintenance.
2026 redevelopment
A complete rebuild of the website in 2026, with a modern structure, improved mobile layouts and clearer enquiry paths.
Ongoing technical support
Updates, changes and technical support as the business and its product range continue to develop.
What the work shows
The ongoing relationship
H&B is a good example of how Ocean prefers to work: years of steady, practical support, followed by a full redevelopment once the business had outgrown its original site.
