Domain ownership and registration details

If those details aren’t available when a domain needs to be secured, we may register it using Ocean Website Design’s details so the project can continue – it’s still managed for your website and the details can be updated once you supply them. Australian domains such as .com.au have eligibility rules, so we’ll ask you for accurate business details when needed.

Ocean Website Design resells and configures hosting through trusted third-party providers, including HostGator and Dreamscape. We look after setup, changes and updates, but the servers are run by those providers, so we can’t promise zero downtime. We will investigate problems and work towards a fast fix whenever something goes wrong.

Do you register domain names?
Yes. We register new domains, renew existing ones, handle transfers between registrars and update settings. You can also check availability yourself through Ocean Hosting.
Can you register a .com.au domain?
Yes. Australian domains require eligibility details such as a valid ABN, ACN or registered business name.
What if I can’t provide an ABN or business details straight away?
Domains should match your business. If details are missing when a domain needs to be secured, we can register it under our details temporarily so you don’t miss it, then update it once your details are ready.
Do I own my domain name?
Yes, it’s your business asset. If we secure a domain temporarily on your behalf, the registration details are updated to your business information when requested.
Do you provide website hosting?
Yes. We set up reliable hosting sized for business websites, blogs, campaign pages and standard online stores.
Can you host my WordPress website?
Yes. We handle the setup, database maintenance and configuration for WordPress websites.
Can you help with business email?
